Meet Our Founder
Gavin Grist, Owner and Operator
Gavin is the second generation of a family deeply rooted in the construction industry. Since the age of 14, he has dedicated himself to learning the excavation trades firsthand, carrying forward the knowledge, work ethic, and attention to detail instilled by those before him.
Over the years, Gavin has worked on a wide range of high-profile projects across Ontario, including the Thornbury Pier, Toronto Silos, Toronto Zoo, TTC Kipling Station, Dufferin Transfer Station, Metro Hall, and Toronto Metropolitan University. This experience has shaped his practical, solutions-focused approach and earned him a reputation for reliability and quality execution.
After settling in the Grey Bruce area, Gavin founded Bedrock Excavating in 2023 with a clear focus: to support local builders, businesses, municipalities, and property owners with excavation work done properly from the very beginning. He understands that successful projects depend on strong preparation, clear communication, and execution you can trust.
Based locally and proudly serving Grey Bruce and surrounding areas, Gavin remains hands-on in every project, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard because getting it right from the start makes all the difference.
